Where tear-out goes wrong
Demolition looks like the easy part of a remodel, and that's how rooms get hurt. Pulling an old vanity takes a chunk of drywall with it. Prying up tile tears the subfloor you wanted to keep. A swing at a wall hits a wire or a pipe nobody knew was there. Dust travels into every room with a door left open, and a pile of old cabinets sits in the garage for a month because no one had time to haul it.
Light demolition is about control. The aim isn't to remove as much as possible. It's to remove exactly what's coming out, and leave everything that stays ready for the next trade.
